If you require a home visit in the Devon area, a standard charge of £40 is charged this is for 1 hour of technical support if any longer is needed we will charge an additional £10 for 30 mins or £20 for an hour.

We currently offer 5 types of technical support to best suit all your technology needs.

Computer health check and fix– £40 per hour/session

What we will do:

  • Scan your computer to ensure there is no virus/malware detected on the computer.
  • Look at your PC’s performance and improve it to ensure your computer doesn’t get slow and ineffective.
  • Ensure your PC is up-to date with the operating system and ensure all apps and 3rd party software is up-to date to ensure it will work effectively.

Tech Set ups – £40 per hour/session

What we will do:

  • In this service we will set up any new bit of technology you may have for example Computer, Tablet, Phone and more.
  • We will connect the device to Wifi
  • Connect any printer to the device
  • Install microsoft office or any other software you require
  • Give you a brief lesson in how to use it up to 20 minuets
  • Answer any questions you may have regarding your new laptop, phone or tablet.

General tech support – £40 per hour/session

What we will do:

  • Fix any software issue you have with your laptop, desktop, phone, or tablet to ensure it is working as it should.

Data Backup and transfer – £40 per hour/session

What we will do:

  • Back up all files and pictures up to 128GB. (128GB is around 18,000 pictures)
  • Transfer the data onto another laptop or desktop.
  • Give you a free memory stick with a copy of all the data that was transferred just in case you lose your data on your new PC.

Remote Support– £30 per hour/session

What we will do:

  • Firstly you have to book an appointment you can do this either over the phone or via email.
  • On the day we will give you a call and start the remote access process we will ask that you install a small bit of software in order to do this however this is completely free and save to use.
  • We will then resolve the issue with you still on the phone, you’ll be able to see what we are doing on your computer and also we will take it at a pace that you feel comfortable with to ensure you are learning how to fix it in the future for a quicker fix.
  • Once you are happy that the issue is resolved we will log off, for your own peace of mind we can only access your computer with a password that is randomly generated by the remote login software so when we log off you know your not being controlled still.

Terms and conditions:

  1. Buddy Tech isn’t responsible for any loss of data while we are on site, we will let you know if you are at risk of losing your data but will try to back up data as a priority when we arrive to prevent data loss.
  2. We will try to fix any software issue that comes our way if for some reason we cannot fix it we will give you contact details of the person to speak to in order to get this resolved this will either be the manufacturer or the retailer.
  3. We cannot fix any issues that are hardware related as we are not computer engineers, however we can refer you to some specialists that should fix the issue if they cannot help we advise to speak to the manufacturer or retailer.
  4. Free phone support is available once a customer has had minimum of 1 booking.
